Oregon State University Beaver Store |
Corporate Brand Identity
- Creative use of space
- Buildable area maximized
- Contextually unified design
The Oregon State University Beaver Store is located across the street from Reser Stadium and Gill Coliseum on the OSU campus. The project maximizes the buildable area of the site by converting a ground level parking garage into 40,000 square feet of retail and a café. The 10,000 square-foot second floor contains spaces for the corporate management functions of the OSU Beaver Store. The building’s program consists of the main OSU Bookstore, offices and a retail shell space.
The major challenge was to design and build under and around an existing building. The project is inserted under the second floor of an existing parking structure and wraps the structure to create a new, street-facing, volume. The design complements the surrounding buildings and responds carefully to the campus architecture through the details, materials, and color palette.
Eric served as the Design Principal for the Beaver Store while Rich served as its Project Architect while working at MulvannyG2 Architecture.
