The Independence Apartments is the second phase of Independence Landing, Tokola Properties’ multi-phased redevelopment project in downtown Independence. The city of Independence and Tokola Properties entered into a public/private partnership to redevelop the former Valley Concrete site. This project was planned as a catalyst for further downtown development and Studio C was in charge of the Master Planning effort.
The Independence Apartments consists of 110 market-rate apartments divided between two multi-story buildings. With expansive views of the Willamette River, the apartment complex also includes a clubhouse with a pool and 14 townhomes along Osprey Lane. The site is located a block from Independence’s historic Main Street and adjacent to the city’s newest riverfront park, providing additional amenities within walking distance for future residents. The Independence Apartments broke ground in Fall of 2019 with construction completion planned for the summer of 2021.
